More Than 2,000 Military and Overseas Ballots Mailed for 2026 General Election

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — More than 2,000 ballots are on their way to Orange County voters serving in the military or living overseas as Orange County Supervisor of Elections Karen Castor Dentel begins mailing ballots for the 2026 General Election.

The Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA) provides voting protections for eligible U.S. citizens who are members of the military, their eligible family members, or living overseas. Because these voters may face longer delivery times, UOCAVA provisions help ensure additional time is provided to receive, complete and return their ballots.

“Whether you’re stationed around the world or voting from right here in Orange County, now is the time to make your voting plan,” said Karen Castor Dentel, Orange County Supervisor of Elections. “Every voter should get vote ready, understand their voting options and, if voting by mail is their plan, request their ballot early!”

Make A Voting Plan

  • Vote-by-Mail: Voters must request a mail ballot for each federal general election cycle. Previous requests do not automatically carry over. The deadline to request a Vote-by-Mail ballot for the 2026 General Election is 5 p.m. on October 22, but voters are encouraged to request their ballot early to allow time for delivery, completion and return.
  • Early voting: Orange County will offer early voting October 19 through November 1, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at 27 locations throughout the county. Voters may visit any early voting location during the early voting period.
  • Election Day: The General Election is Tuesday, November 3, with polls open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. On Election Day, voters must vote at their assigned polling place. Voters should check their information before heading to the polls, as polling locations can change. Anyone in line by 7 p.m. will be allowed to vote.

Orange County voters can get vote ready at VoteOrangeFL.gov to check their voter information, request a Vote-by-Mail ballot, find their assigned polling place, view early voting locations and access other election resources.
